Registration for the European Nursery Championship is coordinated through the national sheepdog societies of each participating country. Handlers wishing to compete must first qualify through their national nursery trial system. Once selected for their national team, handlers will receive registration forms and event information from their national representative. Individual entries outside the national team system are not accepted.
The registration deadline for ENC 2020 is typically six weeks before the event date. Late entries may be accepted at the committee's discretion, subject to available places. Entry fees for the 2020 championship are set at EUR 45 per dog for the qualification rounds. There is no additional fee for the final. The entry fee covers access to the competition grounds for the handler and one assistant, on-site camping or parking, and the Thursday evening reception dinner. Additional meals and social events may incur a small supplementary charge.
Entry fees are collected by national representatives and forwarded to the ENC treasurer. Payment should be completed before the registration deadline. Handlers are responsible for ensuring that their dogs' veterinary documentation is current and complete. This includes a valid pet passport (or equivalent third-country veterinary certificate), proof of rabies vaccination administered at least 21 days before travel, and a health certificate from a qualified veterinarian issued within 10 days of departure.
Dogs entering the Netherlands from EU member states must comply with EU Regulation 576/2013 on the non-commercial movement of pet animals. Handlers travelling from non-EU countries should consult their national veterinary authority for specific import requirements. The ENC committee can provide guidance but cannot guarantee entry to the host country on behalf of individual handlers.
